After having done a lot of job-appliances it grows more and more clear to me that I might be sitting at home for a little longer than I hoped for. To fill the time between job-appliances and perhaps even job-interviews, I've started playing Asheron's Call 2 again. I was hoping to be part of the European BETA of World of Warcraft, but unfortunately that seems to get less likely by the day.
Today is my 26th birthday, whoopee... I hate birthdays. I'd rather pick up some tools and work on my bike or go for a ride than stay at home and pretend I'm enjoying the company of my family.
It's been a while since I posted a blog-entry. The past month was rather boring... I applied for numerous jobs, but 9 out of 10 companies don't even answer to my applications. Apparently I'm not good enough, and unworthy of a "sorry, you're not good enough "-note. It's rather rude of them, but it won't drag me down... it's their loss. After being turned down several times one might be tempted to say "fuck it all" and give up, but I prefer to remain positive. Even though there are currently about 15000 unemployed computer-technicians in Holland, I'm sure I'll get a job eventually. In the meantime, I'm expanding my skills a little by reading some E-books I snagged from the Internet.
Due to various reasons I've decided to dismantle my current web server and host my website on my server at home. My ADSL line has more than sufficient bandwidth to support it. The transition will be done sometime in the next 3 weeks.
Today I placed the order for my new bike, a black Jincheng JC50Q-5, which is a replica of the famous Honda Dax. This is my first 4-stroke moped, and since the nice weather is starting to come up, I'm very anxious. After I'm done with some customizing I will post some photos.
I've put all my current MMORPG activities to a halt. Both Everquest and Asheron's Call 2 just don't cut the cheese anymore. I've seen pretty much all there is to see, fought pretty much all monsters and finished most of the quests. They getting boring and are starting to look more like a drag and less like exciting entertainment. I'm very anxiously awaiting the release of World of Warcraft at the end of this year. For the summer I think I'll give my social life a refresh. Just hang out with my friends and visit nice places.
And on the 8th day, God looked down upon the earth and said "Let there be broadband internet ". Praise the lord, my new uplink at home is active: 2 megabit downstream and 1 megabit upstream! My old uplink had only 128 kilobit upstream, which was just too little for my daily usage. I play a lot of MMORPG's, and I always play a healer-class. It's not very cool if your group dies because you couldn't heal them due to serious lag. So in my situation a little overhead in the bandwidth was desirable.
My mom was hospitalized today. She was feeling sick for a couple of days already and had a severe case of green-apple splatters. But last Friday she was feeling so sick that we decided to drop her off at the hospital. After some examinations the doctors told us that she probably has Crohn's disease, and won't be going home for at least a couple of weeks. Since my stepfather works and I'm currently unemployed, I get to do all these fun household jobs like cooking, washing, etc.
Also known as "my new guitar", for those who don't speak Icelandic. I got a little fed-up with playing the bass, and so i decided to switch to regular guitar. My new gear :

Since I'm sort of unemployed at the moment, I've started to do some experimenting with my facial hair. The mustache is gone again (still can't get the idea out of my head), and the beard was upgraded to the "2004" edition.
