Being unemployed sucks, but it also has some nice benefits. For example, I can take nice hikes through the woods and the nature reserves now. The sun was shining, I was bored.. time to shoot some photos!
Near the town of Oisterwijk, The Netherlands, I found a small pond of about 30 meters in diameter with at least 100 - 150 frogs in it that were having some kind of wild orgy. Ye gods, those guys were noisy!
Almost a year ago, I wrote about a piece of art called Son-O-House. By coincidence I was in the area today with my new apprentice Reinout, and happened to have my HD camera and fish-eye lens with me. Time for an update
Two weeks ago, I attended the Amphi Festival in Köln, Germany. After two days of nonstop standing, walking, drinking rather pricy cola (€ 4,- per 0.5l bottle) and eating fairly decent pizza; I was broken, exhausted and wasted to the bone. But it was all worth it! I even managed to shoot some videos
My coworker Mark arrives at the office whistling and starts working. 10 minutes later another coworker, Newten, arrives and says "Dude, your car is on fire", to which Mark replies "Oh yea, I know". Newten continues to say "No dude, I mean flames and stuff", to which both Mark and Newten dash to the door with a fire extinguisher.
5 minutes later I got curious and decided to check it out. I was just in time to see the fire department arrive.
One of our customers sent back a Hewlett Packard ProCurve 4204vl modular switch, because one of the modules wasn't working. Most of the time it is a legitimate complaint, but sometimes it's a so-called "pebcac" issue. Since it's a rather pricy switch (1957,- Euro), we decided to check it out before sending it back to the manufacturer.
Hmmmmm, flashy lights *purr*
Sorry if the video appears a bit shaky. I'm testing out different converters, and this one seems to have problems with the HD video. This results in quite a bit of frame skipping.
A couple of days ago I saw a video on YouTube of some guy playing "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" by Daft Punk on his iPhone. First thing I thought was "I want that!". Un fortunately, the program is/was only available on the iPhone. So if I want it, I'll have to make it myself... and that's what I'm doing right now!
This is the first test. It's a small ( still 1mb though.. ) application that I made in C# using Visual Studio 2008. At this point it's just a simple form (UI layout) with some primitive sound playing code. It doesn't support synchronous playing of sounds yet (they're queued at the moment), but it's a start... Stay tuned
